You can stop housing discrimination. Let's keep people housed.
While apartments sit open, black and brown people are told that nothing is available to rent—often with a smile and a handshake. People who use wheelchairs are routinely denied simple accommodations, like a parking space near the entrance of their apartment or a curb cut. Families are told they have "too many children" for the housing that meets their needs. Women continue to suffer from sexual harassment by unscrupulous landlords.
These are examples of housing discrimination—and you can help stop it. With your financial support, we can thoroughly investigate these fair housing complaints and open the door to available housing. We need your help to enforce this fundamental civil rights law.

Your Donation Funds:

-$100 reimburses one FHC tester for gas mileage to and from test sites.
-$50 defrays the cost of printing and distributing 100 fair housing brochures across our service area.
-$25 covers the cost of phone relay and language translation services for one month.

Membership
FHC Members are annual donors who contribute a tax-deductible donation to fund our mission of ending housing discrimination and promoting fair housing for all. Support through annual donations allows the FHC to protect housing rights, investigate reports of housing discrimination, and advocate for those who seek our help. Our legal structure is a membership nonprofit with distinct levels; however, you can make a non-membership donation if preferred.
Automatic yearly donations make it easy to keep your membership current. However, you can change or cancel your recurring donation at any time.
At the Fair Housing Center of Southeast & Mid Michigan, we are dedicated to ending housing discrimination and promoting fair housing for all. Thank you for joining us in this work. If you'd like to learn more about the FHC, sign up for our email newsletters and follow us on social media.
